Our Background

Earth Goods Natural Foods is a culmination of the life experiences and an extension of the philosophies of owners Jackie & Rich Gericke. Jackie’s passion for over 30 years has been plants – plants – plants: Medicinal weeds, edible wild things, current scientific research, old recipes for salves, indigenous use of plants and more. Anything about alternative health care that she can find to study is always of great interest. She is a certified (non-practicing) medical assistant with a degree in chemistry.

Rich grew up on Gericke’s Organic Farm, a family owned farm for over 40 years which was ultimately transformed into a New York state park. All this diverse history has led to an expansive, complete health food store focusing on alternative medicines with a healthy respect for not only tradition but also science and research.

Our Philosophy

Our commitment to quality is evident in all aspects of our business from the food, supplements, and body care products that we sell to the advice and information we offer our customers. Of course the bulk of our products are organic, fair trade and environmentally friendly. In addition, we also offer unique products made by very small companies and support local cottage industry when possible.

Food! It has a story and you should know it!
High quality, organic & gourmet food is what we are all about!! From our organic bulk foods and spices to our fine meats and cheeses, most of our products are hand selected items we have tried, and use ourselves. Food free from chemicals, preservatives and artificial ingredients. We also do our very best to be sure there are NO GMO ingredients in our selections. Remember: Organic ALWAYS means no gmo’s.

Gluten Free Products
We carry an extensive gluten free selection: breads, baking mixes, pasta, cookies etc. We are experts in cooking,eating and tasting gluten free items (4 out 5 members of our family eat gluten free). We have the ingredients you need and the know how to help you recreate your favorite foods.

Honey
Jackie loves honey! She thinks it is the most delightful stuff! Therefore she buys all kinds of honey from all over the world! Of course we start with local honey. Our abundant wildflowers and pristine South Dakota prairie environment, produce some of the best honey in the world. We also regularly have Tupelo, Buckwheat, Orange Blossom and honey infused with royal jelly, propolis & pollen. Additionally we carry the graded, medicinal Manuka Honey from New Zealand. Demand always exceeds supply, with our local honey, so get yours early!
